Our Graduate is Running a Thriving Business – Reshima

Reshima, raised by a resilient single mother in Kampala’s challenging Kasanvu slum, faced educational setbacks due to financial constraints.
However, her introduction to Elevate became a turning point. Balancing studies with supporting her family, Reshima excelled, earning recognition as a top student. With a diploma in hand, she dreamt of a graphic design studio.
“Trinity encouraged and fueled my passion, and I finally started my studio. I now employ two other young people.”
Reshima’s story epitomizes era 92’s mission of empowerment, transforming her family’s life from slums to improved housing. Her resilience is such an inspiration, showcasing the transformative power of opportunity.

WHEN YOUNG PEOPLE WALK INTO AN ELEVATE HUB, THEY STEP INTO A NEW FUTURE.

Each day, youth in Uganda’s slum confront daunting challenges like drugs, crime, and early parenthood.

Four years ago, our vision was clear: to provide these underserved youth with the tools, community, and global opportunities they deserve to break the cycle of poverty in slums with innovative solutions

Through the Elevate booth and our cutting-edge technology, we’re reaching over 300 young people in Kosovo, Katanga, and Gulu slums. We’re transforming them into skilled professionals: designers, editors, marketers, and virtual assistants, bridging the gap between their local realities and global aspirations.

As hundreds of young graduates emerge from our community educational programs each year, they face a common challenge: limited access to startup capital, which hinders their pursuit of dreams.

Reflecting on his own journey, Emmanuel Trinity, the founder of era92 Fund, recalls starting out as a 19-year-old entrepreneur, saying, “I had to borrow approximately 16 million UGX to launch era92 global.” This experience inspired the creation of the era92 Fund.

The era92 Fund exists with a mission to address this gap within our ecosystem, helping young people access life-changing assets that break the cycles of poverty.
