As we scale our operations, manage multiple business lines, and prepare for significant capital raising, we are seeking a Head Of Finance (HOF) who will bring financial leadership, strategic insight, and operational discipline to our growing organization.

The Role
The HOF will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for leading era92 Group’s financial strategy and ensuring the organization has the resources, systems, and controls to achieve its ambitious goals.
This is not just an accounting role. The HOF will manage group-wide financial planning and analysis, lead capital raising efforts, oversee compliance and risk management, and provide the financial insight that drives executive decision-making. They will partner closely with the HOF and other senior leaders to shape the future of era92 Group.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with the ability to zoom out to big-picture capital allocation decisions while also ensuring the books close on time and audits run smoothly.


Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Lead long-term financial planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecasts for all business units.
- Develop and maintain financial models to guide executive decision-making.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board based on financial analysis and projections.
2. Capital Raising & Investor Relations
- Lead fundraising efforts, including debt, grants, and program-related investments (PRIs.
- Manage relationships with donors, lenders, DFIs, and investors.
- Maintain data rooms, prepare board/investor packs, and ensure covenant compliance.
3. Accounting & Controls
- Oversee accounting functions, consolidations across multiple entities, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS/IFRS for SMEs and, for Era92 Fund, implement IFRS 9 provisioning.
- Establish and enforce financial policies across accounts payable, receivables, payroll, and procurement.
4. Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage liquidity, cash flow, and foreign exchange (FX) risk.
- Build banking relationships and optimize treasury operations.
- Ensure sufficient runway is maintained at all times.
5. Risk & Compliance
- Oversee regulatory filings, tax compliance, and audit readiness.
- Develop credit risk frameworks and provisioning for the microfinance portfolio
- Maintain robust internal controls and risk management practices.
5. Systems & Data
- Lead implementation of financial systems (ERP, GL, BI dashboards).
- Automate reporting, invoice-to-cash cycles, and expense management.
- Build a single source of financial truth across all business units.
5. Leadership & Team Development
- Build and mentor a lean but high-performing finance team.
- Develop succession and growth pathways for finance staff.
- Serve as a trusted partner to the leadership team and Board.

2. Events & Programming
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events at the Hub (workshops, meetups, networking sessions).
- Develop and manage a monthly events calendar aligned with era92’s mission.
- Partner with external organizations to host meaningful, high-quality events.
- Handle event logistics including setup, registration, and follow-up.
3. Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee daily Hub operations, including bookings, room setups, and resource allocation.
- Ensure the Hub is always clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Promote the Hub presence on Social Media
- Manage vendors and contractors (cleaning, supplies, maintenance).
- Track inventory and oversee supplies for members and events.
4. Growth & Administration
- Manage member onboarding, registrations, and community communications.
- Maintain a simple reporting system (visitors, events, occupancy, feedback).
- Track and report KPIs: member growth, event attendance, revenue, satisfaction.
- Support in marketing the Hub on social media with event updates and community highlights.

Candidate Profile
Must-Haves
- 5–10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a HOF, Finance Director, or Head of Finance role.
- Proven track record in raising debt and/or grants, and managing investor/donor relations.
- Experience consolidating financials across multiple entities or subsidiaries.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/IFRS for SMEs, with working expertise in IFRS 9 (expected credit loss provisioning).
- Demonstrated success in implementing finance systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho, NetSuite, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage boards, donors, and investors.
- High ethical standards and a reputation for integrity.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in microfinance, fintech lending, or donor-funded organizations.
- Prior work in social enterprises or African/emerging markets.
- Exposure to FX risk management and treasury operations.
What Success Looks Like (12-Month Outcomes)
- Secure at least $1M in growth capital for era92 Fund and $500k in grants/PRIs.
- Maintain a 6+ month cash runway across the group.
- Achieve monthly book closure within 7 business days and deliver board packs by day 10.
- Deliver a clean, unqualified annual audit with zero major findings.
- Improve group gross margin by 5 percentage points and reduce cost-to-income ratio by 10 percentage points.
- Ensure era92 Fund maintains NPL90 ≤ 5% and on-time collections of 95%+.
